Freshman HS Softball: Lincoln-Way Central Holds back BBCHS

The Lincoln Way Central Freshman softball team took advantage of some defensive miscues to hand the Bradley Bourbonnais first-year squad their second loss of the season Wednesday night, topping the Boilermakers 13-8.

Mattie Yuska took the loss in the circle pitching all seven innings, striking out two while walking five. Grace Davison was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, triple, and scoring four runs. Tatum Reddy was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Molly Weirer went 2-for-4 with two RBI's and run scored.

The Boilermaker's sloppy defense throughout the game allowed Central to take a lead and not give it up again.  Boilers had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the first with one out, but struck out twice to end the threat.  BBCHS several times tried to get back in the game, but Central would answer with a big inning to kept it out of reach.

BBCHS is now 4-2 on the season.
