During action Saturday (June 9th) the team earned their spot into the semi-finals, setting the stage for a Sunday morning showdown against the Orland Park Fury in Niles. A battle the entire game, regulation ended in a 4-all tie, sending the Coyotes into a sudden death overtime.  Midway through the extra frame, the game-winner came from from Dexter Nordmeyer found the back of the net sending the Coyotes into the Championship game against the Homewood Flossmoor Vikings at 2:20pm in Franklin Park that same day.

The Coyotes were up to the task, even after playing an already fierce game earlier in the day. Behind great goaltending by Sophia Most, goals by Matt Leciejewski and Tony Johnston, and a stellar Hat Trick by Landon Martin, the Coyotes achieved their goal of a Division 2 championship beating the Vikings by a final score of 5-2.
